I like that you mentioned that with social media a loose of "face-to-face" communication comes along. I think that this is an aspect, which is now taken for granted but it wasn't like this only ten to 15 years ago. Also I think it is a really nice assumption that youre customers do your marketing for you. But, as you said, when you have a favored product it is in fact something that can become real and this is probably the best a marketer can happen with the social media.

And this is not the end amazon for example has a profile for every customer if you go to there website they show you a personalized offer based on your earlier purchases and your search via there search engine. They can replace the 4 P’s we usually know with new P’s – People, platform, promotion and participation. In the middle of that is the community or in different words the customer. If they avoid using social media they can’t compete nowadays because it’s essential to use it. Even if their target audience are people above 70 years, it could happen that their grandchildren will tell them about the new retirement center which has all the benefits they ever wanted. I believe that social media is a virtual community, where an individual and an individual, no matter their age, their nationality, their personality, can connect. I feel it is is a both good and bad culture. While people can connect with people easily, I think that people are starting to forget the good old days where people only talked faced to face, with moral and manners. But it IS a common phenomenon around the world nowadays, so that is one of the biggest reasons why I think that social media marketing is useful.

Social Media for me is one of the most important features when dealing with marketing management strategies. All big companies, as Sony, Apple, etc. using Social Media long time before it became such famous it is today. It is a must have for big companies to act in the virtual world of social media to alive in market. But Social Media contains big threats you should have a look at it.

With Twitter and Facebook we can meet a lot of people around the world and kept in touch with them really easily.

In marketing mix, social networks are really important because it’s a way to communicate for a reduced price and to be focused on a really specific target. With social network, companies have access to a huge and really specific database.

2) Why are Social Networks important in the marketing mix?
It’s a way of branding the company really quickly, it’s a way of advertising the company and it’s not that expensive, at least it’s less expensive d-than add in a magazine and more people can see it because most of the people spend at least 5 minutes a day on Facebook so you can be sure that your add will be seen by a lot a persons. So social media are good for companies but it can also be bad because if a customer is disappointed by a company’s service than he will post it on Facebook or on Twitter and then it’s going to be bad for the company and seen by a lot of people.
Well, the marketing mix is divided into four different parts PRICE, PRODUCT, COMMUNICATION and DISTRIBUTION.
ReplyDeleteTo have a greater look at the section "PRODUCT" social networks are perfectly qualified for; because you can present your own products at blogs, facebook, twitter, linked in, etc.
Other persons can make their comments, so for the companies there is a big chance to get a great average of opinions you can base your statistics at and maybe eliminate or change products.
You often get also great and progressive ideas for new innovations you can use for developing old products.
In the second sector "PRICE" social networks are good for, because you can perfectly compare with other competitors using social networks to make themselves well-known, too. If you get a lot of complaints about the price, so you might should make a price cut and think about how to reduce your own costs..
But often price is such a little section in Social Networks, because the Focus is based on the communication with the customer and to give an overview what´s going on in the company, so that the customer get a chance to be part of it.
Regarding to the third sector "DISTRIBUTION" you can perfectly use E-Commerce or can show up the customer your own different delivery ways. Or you can make a questionnaire which way of distribution the customers most like and prefer.
The last sector is the "COMMUNICATION" one. I think that it is clear that social networks paved the way for customers to get a voice regarding to companies and their products. Customers can write down complaints, positive or negative feedback, suggestions for making such things better in the future, discussion topics. And on the other hand companies have the ability to promote their products, make a special deep connection to their customers and regarding to this, the customer feel descried.
So you can see, that in the world of today social media is a big marketing tool for companies to get a better relationship to their customers, get succesfull and well-known. It prop up the marketing mix and offer the basic for customer-handling in the world wide web.

ReplyDeleteSocial Media is a category of online media, where people are talking, participating, sharing, networking and bookmarking online.
Social Media has shot to the forefront of people’s attention, because it is fun. Thanks to social media, it is easy to share your ideas, photos, videos, likes and dislikes and find out what others think of them. You can find friends, business contacts and become part of a community or a bunch of different communities. Social Media gives you what TV never could – a chance to be engaged and engage others.
But there are not only advantages. It is very dangerous for companies and also normal users, that information are shared in the World Wide Web, without your knowledge. It is known, that there appear many risks, where a lot of information is shown to all who wants to know them or search for them.
All in all, you can say, that Social Media is a growing field and we cannot imagine living without it anymore.
Why are Social Networks important in the marketing mix?
“Putting the right product, in the right place, at the right price, at the right time.”
This is an example for a marketing mix. But where is the Social Media aspect?
If your Social Media is managed apart from the entire marketing mix, then why take the effort to investing time in social media? Often Social Media is operated and managed separately from the rest of the marketing channels as if it is of a different kind just because it is new. This can lead to a different strategy or approach of customers not fitting into the complete company or brand picture.
But you should realize that Social Media and the four P’s: Price, Product, Promotion and Place have to fit together with Social Media.
For example, the Promotion is not one-way (Seller → Buyer) anymore, but interactive talking between all the costumers. The Place is not a specific location, but the Product can be seen on a website, which is free and available for everybody. And so on, a lot of things have changed, which should be noticed before being out of the market competition. You have to use these new tools to hold a good market position and to get advantages to competitors.
1) Social media is, in my opinin, a way how you can post feelings or actions, share pictures and comment on those, respond to posts of other people, recommend products or places and show your "friends" what you like... simply spoken: communication with lots of people which is made possible by the internet.

In these times you have to be present in Social Networks because of a quite simple reason: your customers are. So you can reach a very high number of your customers in a fast way via social networks by still not spending a lot of money on this. But a company should also monitor as much as they can what is going on in these Social Networks, when customers or potential customers are talking about the company. With this the company is able to improve their products and services. But there is not only this positive feature of improving your product or service, it is also possible that you get a lot of bad reviews for your products or that people are talking in a bad way about your company on Social Networks and as you know people have a lot of "friends" in Social Networks, who also can read those bad news about your company. So you definitely have to react on this to keep up a good reputation for your company

I think Social Networks are very important for companies. Tweets, blog posts and such things enable companies to obtain information´s about competitors, prices, trends, and products. As things going faster and faster in our world, it is necessary for businesses to use online platforms like Facebook or Twitter. Almost everyone in the modern society has a computer or access to the World Wide Web, so it is essential for a modern company to display online presence. On networks businesses are in the position to make contacts online, promote their products and services or to provide customers the chance to give feedback about their products. Additional to this I can imagine that it is cheaper to promote online than to do traditional commercials on TV.

I like that you mentioned that with social media a loose of "face-to-face" communication comes along. I think that this is an aspect, which is now taken for granted but it wasn't like this only ten to 15 years ago.

Without the Internet globalization in the way we know it would have never been possible. Earlier in the days Internet was a one way communication tool. This has changed over the last years, it is now a two way communication tool. Due to this fact Internet lives from his content and everybody is part of this as he writes posts, comments etc.
Social Media is one of the newest parts of the so called web 2.0. The basic idea is that everyone can contact anyone everywhere. A new study showed that in average everyone knows everyone by just passing 5 people, called connectors. This made smart business people think about the power of social networks. For example Facebook with over 700 million users, most of them using this service more than once a day. Why do you think people are investing billions of dollars in Facebook. Social media in my opinion is a great way to meet friends and to stay in contact with your friends all over the world!
On the other hand i know that everything posted in the Internet will stay there forever and can be used to profile me as a customer, person or even future employee. So you have to be careful what you share and who can take advantage out of this informations.

As the Internet and especially social media becomes more and more common in the world wide web it gets in the focus of companies trying to take advantage of this huge pool of information! It's a great way to use social media as a tool of promotion, which is a huge part of the marketing mix! Think of the enormous amount of money companies are spending for advertising in the Super Bowl. Millions of dollars for a few seconds of advertising in the halftime break. And now think of a network as Facebook where 700 million users could possible see your advertising by a relatively small amount. I think the choice where to spend your money is clear. If you now know that the Internet and the number of people accessing it grows day by day it becomes even more valuable for companies! And this is not the end amazon for example has a profile for every customer if you go to there website they show you a personalized offer based on your earlier purchases and your search via there search engine. They use there Internet search engine as a complete marketing mix machine!

Social media is also useful for companies. They can use it to monitor, promote or distribute their products and for human resource purposes.
2) Why are Social Networks important in the marketing mix?
I think social networks/social media platforms are more than important. They can replace the 4 P’s we usually know with new P’s – People, platform, promotion and participation. In the middle of that is the community or in different words the customer.
That means customers in whom the companies are interested in uses these networks. To acquire new customers companies must use those networks. If they avoid using social media they can’t compete nowadays because it’s essential to use it. Even if their target audience are people above 70 years, it could happen that their grandchildren will tell them about the new retirement center which has all the benefits they ever wanted.
This is why networks are important – we are surrounded and we cannot avoid them exactly like companies cannot.

ReplyDeleteI believe that social media is a virtual community, where an individual and an individual, no matter their age, their nationality, their personality, can connect. I feel it is is a both good and bad culture. While people can connect with people easily, I think that people are starting to forget the good old days where people only talked faced to face, with moral and manners.
But it IS a common phenomenon around the world nowadays, so that is one of the biggest reasons why I think that social media marketing is useful.

Like I've written above, I believe that social media is so big nowadays, literally almost everybody has a Twitter account, Facebook account, YouTube account. I believe that they are very easy to get familiar with, and when used in the correct way, very effective.
